More satisfying than I expected from a free match-3 Okay so I downloaded this mostly out of curiosity because the visual design caught my eye — the chunky candy buttons, that green alien mascot, the aurora backdrop with crop-circle rings everywhere? Whoever did the art direction understood that presentation is everything, and as someone who spends a lot of time thinking about visual identity, I appreciated that immediately. The match-3 core itself is genuinely well-tuned on the 8x8 board — combos chain in a way that feels earned, not lucky, and when you trigger something like a CIRCUIT STORM or CROSS-BLOOM the board pops with this very satisfying cascade energy. The Bay (the three power-up slots you charge and aim yourself) adds actual decision-making instead of just hoping specials land where you need them. My main gripe with the single-player side is that 12 levels across 4 worlds goes by fast — I wanted more before hitting the paywall for desktop access past World 1, though honestly the coin economy from winning felt fair and the cosmetics setup means nobody's buying their way up the leaderboard. The live 1v1 duel system works, real-time with voice chat which I did not expect at this price point (free!), though the ceremony wrap after duels still feels mid — like the infrastructure is solid but the podium moment hasn't fully landed yet.
