Okay so I came in expecting something painfully dry like every other chess app I've tried, and instead Grandma Gambit was absolutely reading me to filth by move four, this is giving less Bobby Fischer tournament hall and more neon arcade cabinet energy, which honestly suits me. The six bot personas each have a real distinct voice and the Lingo pane keeps the whole thing feeling alive in a way that chess.com never does. My only gripe is that some of the newer features like the rankings ladder feel a bit rough still, but the core browser play with no download or sign-up is genuinely frictionless and I've already sent it to three friends. 👍 Instant no-download browser play · Bot personalities (especially Grandma Gambit) are genuinely funny · Fair by design, no pay-to-win rank 👎 Rankings and some newer modes still feel unfinished ⭐ 7/10 🎮 Chessingo (HyperSonic Games Studio (published by Tyga Games), 2026)
