The internet is wild today. Anyway, back to Tokoname teapot making & clay craft.

Coming from a craft background where patience and precision matter, I was not expecting to genuinely laugh at a chess bot, but Grandma Gambit had me grinning within two moves. The whole thing runs right in the browser, no download, no account, which is exactly the kind of frictionless entry I appreciate. It scratches a completely different itch than something like Kasparov vs Deep Blue, this is loud, neon, fast, and the Lingo chat pane is legitimately entertaining. My one gripe is I can feel myself wanting something with a bit more weight after a few games; the arcade pace is the point, but the serious player side of me keeps looking for depth that just is not there yet. 👍 Jumps straight into the browser as a guest, no friction at all · Bot personalities like Sal The Fork and Grandma Gambit are genuinely funny, not just noise 👎 Gets a little thin once the novelty of the trash talk settles ⭐ 7/10 🎮 Chessingo (HyperSonic Games Studio (published by Tyga Games), 2026)

The crop-circle aesthetic hit different for me — very The X-Files energy, and the board pops with satisfying weight every time a CIRCUIT STORM or MEGA-BLOOM clears. Real 1v1 duels with voice chat and actual ELO ranking is not something you expect from a free match-3, and it earns those points. The duel ceremony wrap still feels half-baked mid-match though — the live spine is there but the podium pageantry is clearly still being built out. 👍 No pay-to-win — cosmetics only, leaderboard stays honest · Voice chat + real-time duels genuinely work 👎 Duel ceremony feels unfinished ⭐ 7/10 🎮 Cropsicles (TYGA.GAMES, 2026)
